Welcome to 60 seconds with... where we interview a great business every month.
This month, we met with
BorrowMyDoggy's founder and CEO, Rikke Rosenlund to get the low-down on her best business advice and highlights in a minute or less!
PP: In your own words, can you tell us a bit about BorrowMyDoggy please?
Rikke Rosenlund: BorrowMyDoggy connects dog owners with local dog lovers across the UK and Ireland for walks, sitting, and holiday care. Our aim is to leave 'Pawprints of Happiness' on the lives of dogs and people.
PP: How would you describe your customers?
RR: Our wonderful members are everything from families, to students, retired, singles and everyone in between. All of our customers have one thing in common - their love of dogs.
PP: What’s been your biggest highlight since starting your business?
RR: Just hearing pawsome member stories. Especially about children who get to enjoy some happy dog time and the amazing friendships that have been built via BorrowMyDoggy. A borrower got married recently and had her borrowed dog walk down the aisle with the bridesmaids.
PP: What would you say is the one thing your business couldn’t function without?
RR: People - both our wonderful community and the passionate dog-loving team. Without both we would simply not function.
PP: How has the growth of mobile impacted your business?
RR: Mobile has helped our community as it allow our members to quickly engage with each other on-the-go; as well as us easily interacting with the them.
PP: What is your favourite thing about using PayPal?
RR: Ease of use both for our customers and us as a company.
PP: If you were to give one piece of advice to other businesses, what would it be?
RR: Find a pain point of your customer’s and do what you can to solve it and enrich their lives.
PP: Finally, if you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you take with you?
RR: Satellite phone so I can call home and ask to be picked up, a water purification system and some food.
PP: Thanks for joining us for 60 seconds Rikke.
