PayPal Global Sellers Removes Barriers to Selling Internationally
Overseas exporting is estimated to be worth £43.7 billion[i] to British businesses by 2020. However, for small businesses who are looking to establish an international presence, getting started can seem daunting – with overseas customs and excise, online payments, shipping costs, currency conversion and website translation the most commonly cited barriers.

We’re here to help with PayPal Global Sellers, our newest cross-border trade service that helps the UK’s small and medium businesses increase their international presence and sales. PayPal Global Sellers addresses the most common exporting challenges with a suite of tools, including: website translation, presentment, international shipping and return facilitation, localised payments and more.

Our first partnership is with Webinterpret, the PayPal Global Sellers solution helps businesses enhance their international sales at no extra cost, with:

  • Localised website translation in less than a week, enabling international buyers to search and shop in their own language and currency
  • Localised PayPal secure checkout
  • Website and product visibility in 60 countries
  • Low cost, hassle-free international shipping options from the UK
  • Specialised support from a dedicated account manager with reporting tools

During the beta programme, two examples of British businesses that have benefited from PayPal Global Sellers are Na’vi Organise and Rock Jaw Audio:

Na’vi Organics, an early Global Sellers beta customer, has launched 55 localised versions of their store and are now able to accept payment in 25 different currencies via PayPal. Through the combination of providing translated and localised versions of their store and offering competitive shipping rates, Na’vi experienced a 72% increase in their international orders in the first six weeks after implementing PayPal Global Sellers.

Rock Jaw Audio, which develops high-end, bespoke music products, joined PayPal Global Sellers and installed a plug-in which allowed it to localise its shop to several markets simultaneously. Translated product descriptions, prices in local currencies and competitive shipping options have helped Rock Jaw Audio achieve 30% growth by selling products in over 60 countries worldwide.

Businesses participating in the PayPal Global Sellers program can also be covered by PayPal Seller Protection, which protects a businesses’ eligible online sales, helps minimise claims and chargebacks, and helps prevent merchant fraud.

PayPal Global Sellers is also available in the U.S. and we have plans to expand it to additional markets later in 2017.
