60 seconds with... Bloom & Wild
Welcome to 60 seconds with... where we interview a great business every month.

This month, we met with Jim Warren, Bloom & Wild's Marketing Director, to get his best business advice and highlights in a minute or less!

PayPal (PP): In your own words, can you tell us a bit about your business please?
Jim Warren (JW): We aim to make the giving and receiving of flowers the joy it should be, by offering beautiful trend-led bouquets in letterbox-friendly packaging. This means you don't have to spoil the surprise, no-one needs to be in to receive the delivery.

PP: How would you describe your customers?
JW: Our customers care about celebrating special moments and want to show their loved-ones they're thinking about them. They don't just send flowers for big occasions, one of our biggest reasons for sending is 'just because'.

PP: What’s been your biggest highlight since your business started?
JW: The feedback we get from customers is always the biggest highlight, the whole business works hard to try and make every delivery is a success and our great reviews are so nice to see. Launching in France, Germany and Ireland has also been fantastic.

PP: What would you say is the one thing your business couldn’t function without?
JW: We love Slack, I think we would be lost without it. Also cafetieres.

PP: How has the growth of mobile impacted your business?
JW: Our whole business is built to be mobile-first so it influences everything we do, from the way we organise and present our flowers, to how we structure our site and apps. Emotional triggers occur when you're out and about and on your mobile so we want it to be as easy as possible to show someone you're thinking of them even when you're not in front of a computer.

PP: What is your favourite thing about using PayPal?
JW: We've got a really nice integration which makes payment nice and easy, it fits particularly well with our mobile philosophy and with making things as simple as possible.

PP: If you were to give one piece of advice to other businesses, what would it be?
JW: Put your customers before everything else, especially if you're competing with established brands.

PP: Thanks Jim!
